Web: Telefono Blasphemioso

First, you'll need a short definition of pre·sump·tu·ous:
"Overstepping due bounds, overconfident or venturesome; impertinently bold; audacious; rash; taking liberties unduly; arrogant; insolent, rude and disrespectful."

Now, on with the news.

The gadget blog Gizmodo reports a proclamation from Tomi T Ahonen, self-proclaimed "world's leading 3G strategy consultant," that the Apple iPhone should be seen as the Jesusphone.

"Much like the Western calendar marks time from before and after Jesus Christ, and how the computer world changed totally by the Macintosh—remembering that Windows is Microsoft's copy of the Mac operating system—I am certain that the mobile telecoms world will count its time in two Eras. The Era BI: time Before the iPhone, and the ERA AI: time After the iPhone."

Dear Skippy R and readers of the Wittenburg Blog

I wrote the original item, and I think it is quite fair to categorize my style of blogging as presumptious. I take no offense with that judgement.

I would only ask, that please readers note, that I never used the "Jesusphone" reference in my blog, nor did I intend to blaspheme. That "Jesusphone" comment came from someone else who blogged in reference to my original posting.

I did make a clear analogy right at the start of my blog, that I am drawing a parallel to how the Macintosh changed the PC world and the iPod changed the portable music world - this was the "Before iPhone" and "After iPhone" type of categorization which my blog next proceeds to analyze.

I do recognize my style is abrasive and arrogant. I do back up my claims with plenty of real numbers and data - and many of the biggest blogsites and news sites relating to IT/technology and telecoms have said my blog had very much merit.

I do hope your readers can see past this "Jesusphone" reference - as that is not in my original posting - and please read my text and judge me for my text only.

And thank you Wittenburg Blog for mentioning my story and linking to it.
